Denmark’s richest man lost three of his four children in the devastating terror attacks in Sri Lanka, it emerged Monday.

Billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen, 46, the fashion tycoon behind online clothing retailer Asos, was with his family on vacation in Sri Lanka when suicide bombers struck, killing at least 290, according to The Mirror.
Three days before the attacks, Povlsen’s daughter Alma shared a family holiday photo of her siblings, Astrid, Agnes and Alfred — calling them “three little bears” — in front of a swimming pool lined by palm trees.

Holch Povlsen’s company confirmed the deaths today.

“I can confirm that three children have been killed. We have no further comment and we ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this time,” Jesper Stubkier, communications manager for Holch Povlsen’s wholesale clothing business, Bestseller, told the Press Association.

As well as Denmark’s richest man, Povlsen is believed to be the largest landowner in Scotland after buying a string of historic estates.

He and his wife, Anne Storm Pedersen, hold an estimated 200,000 acres of the Highlands, and plan to rewild the landscape to preserve it for future generations, according to the Guardian.

Sri Lankan officials said Monday that the death toll had reached 290 and the number of injured also rose to more than 500.

Sri Lankan officials said a total of 24 suspects had been arrested, and are blaming a local terror group, National Thowfeek Jamaath.

US Secretary of State Pompeo said Sunday that “several US citizens” were among those killed.
