RUFUS Giwa Polytechnic Owo undergraduate Oluwatunmise Adejube has set a record as the first Nigerian student to sit an examination in a wedding gown after faced with the dilemma of having to write a paper the day she got married.

Ms Adejube a student of Department of Accountancy, had no choice than to attend the exam in her bridal gown after the examination co-incidentally fell on her wedding day.

Other students sitting for the paper were stunned when she appeared in a white, flowing gown to take her seat for the exam.

Just before the exam started, Ms Adejube was accompanied by a group of young ladies, who stormed the school in a convoy of three exotic cars. An hour later, Oluwatunmise left the examination hall to the reception, where her husband and guests were waiting for her.

Justifying her act, Oluwatunmise stressed that her education was as important to her as her marriage. She added that she did not want to choose between the two, so did her best to marry both activities.

“When the wedding date was fixed some months ago, nobody knew it would clash with my second semester examination. What appears to be a saving grace for me is that, both the wedding and examination are taking place in the same town, if not, I would have missed the three-unit paper and carry it over automatically,” she said.
