50 Cent Sex Tape Case Moving Forward Despite Bankruptcy

Judge grants Lastonia Leviston’s motion, jury will determine punitive damages.

Bankruptcy won’t stop 50 Cent’s sex tape case from going forward. A Connecticut court decided today thatLastonia Leviston can go forward in the multi-million dollar judgment owed to her from the G-Unit frontman.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Ann Nevins approved Leviston’s request for a Relief from Stay, meaning punitive damages in the case will be determined Monday (July 20), despite the Queen’s native’s Chapter 11 filing earlier this week.

“We are pleased that Judge Nevins has allowed us to resume this case in New York on Monday,” Leviston’s attorney, Phillip Freidin, said in a statement to BET.com. “This allows the jury that has worked so hard for a month hearing evidence, to complete its work.

“Once again, we have overcome another delay allowing us to finally get back to Lastonia Leviston’s pursuit of justice against Mr. Curtis Jackson, a.k.a, 50 Cent.”

According to bankruptcy documents, Fif is claiming $28 million in debts.
